Indonesia Pukau Community Arts Team academica American University Of Beirut


For the umpteenth time, Saman dance, Poco-Poco, Kecak dance, music and other cultural attractions kulintang Indonesia displayed and chanted in Lebanon. Indonesian art exists to entertain the invitees who reached 300 people at the annual meeting of the Women's Auxiliary.
 
In front of students, nurses, university leaders, friends of Indonesia and the community campus of American University of Beirut, Indonesia presented an impressive art.

As in past performances, Indonesian arts team is led by the mothers of members of Dharma Wanita Embassy in Beirut who was always eager many similar performances, aided by Indonesian students in Lebanon and Indonesian members of the Batallion / Garuda Contingent (Konga XXIIIC).
 
Indonesian arts team appearances at AUB is a rare opportunity and the first time gained by Indonesia. This is because the University is very selective in determining the agenda fillers in every activity.
 
In his remarks, the ambassador of Indonesia to Beirut, Bagas Hapsoro, stressing that this show represents a valuable opportunity to introduce Indonesian culture to the greatest extent in Lebanon. Hapsoro Ambassador further stated that performance art is the beginning of cooperation and friendship are more tightly between Indonesia and Lebanon, especially the relationship with AUB campus community.
 
Still on the same occasion, the Acting President of AUB, Dr. Faith Nuwaiheed welcome and are grateful for the participation of Indonesia. They also hope the cooperation of both countries and communities can be improved. To that end, the AUB is also expressed interest in re-invited to be submitted Embassy info and discussion about Indonesia in the seminar which will be implemented in future opportunities at AUB. Related to this, the ambassador of Indonesia-Embassy Beirut expressed readiness to be a guest speaker at the seminar referred to culture.
 
AUB is the oldest University in Lebanon, established in 1866 and has witnessed several times of armed conflict in Lebanon. Currently the number of AUB students reach 7500 people, spread across undergraduate and post graduate levels in various faculties including business, education, diplomacy, engineering, medicine, and others. Due to the consistency to maintain political neutrality, non-sectarian and implementation of high standards, this University can maintain its existence for hundreds of years and became one of the best, and gained university status as a reference to some particular direction in the Middle East, such as medicine and business.
